Three Stolen Range Rovers
14 day - Stolen Range Rovers Recovery Hat-trick !! - 14-28 April 20
The COVID 19 epidemic continues to bring a significant increase in our stolen vehicle recovery operations. This has been particularly prevalent in London, where Automatrics have had to track down and recover three stolen Range Rovers within a 14 day theft spree.
14/4/20 - "69" plate Range Rover Sport (Silver)
17/4/20 - "19" plate Range Rover SVR (blue)
28/4/20 - "68" plate Range Rover Sport (black)
Keyless theft still remains a problem even on a vehicle purchased in Dec 2019, all three cars had internal panels removed in search of the standard tracker systems but they failed to find our more covert devices.
The blue SVR with the highest value at cira £110K was fitted with false plates, and the bandits had also fitted their own steering lock. This was the second time that we have recovered this SVR, having first recovered it on 30/08/19, also in London. On both occasions we needed to arrange a four wheel lift.
We also recovered a Range Rover in March within London. Automatrics continue to keep a100% theft recovery success on Range Rovers despite all bandits efforts.
We have to say a big shout out for Danny Lucey from TrackCam who supported Automatrics in all the recoveries and the removal of the bandit steering lock !
