Stolen Breaker, Tools and Renault Traffic Recovered
A National Plant Hire client reported a breaker stolen from a Southampton work-site Tuesday night. The 120KG breaker was brand new and was out on its first hire job. The Automatrics MTrack device was remotely activated and soon reported a cell location close to the M27 Southampton Exit but no GPS signal was achieved.
An Automatrics finder was dispatched to attend the Southampton reporting location. The finder attended the communicating cell reported by the plant tracker device. Then by conducting a a quick radio signal sweep of the area the finder was able to pick up the plant tracking device radio beacon using specialist radio direction signal finding equipment.
The secret radio signal was emanating from a Renault Traffic Van parked up on a local street. When the VIN number was checked against the registration they failed to match. The local police attended site and gained access through an unlocked side load door to view inside. The vehicle was taken away to a police compound for forensic checks, and the Police later confirmed the Renault Traffic Van was also stolen.
The Automatrics MTrack Stolen Vehicle tracking system is the preferred choice for many plant owners as it is especially suited to the higher protection needs of plant equipment. Despite criminals searching for wired trackers the Automatrics MTrack self-powered system could not be found.
This unique tracking system has self-powered or vehicle powered options. The advanced three layer location technology enables any vehicle or portable asset to be tracked and recovered even in the most challenging environments. Such as underground car parks, in the back of a van or inside a shipping container.
